pAge is the Drinkable Book filled with pages coated with silver nano particles that can filter water, while also teaching proper sanitation & hygiene. One page can filter up to 100 litres of drinking water, or about 30 days worth of supply. Each book can provide up to 4 years worth of clean water, and can be a cheap, sustainable solution for communities suffering from severe sanitation problems. The resulting water is comparable to the tap water in the United States, killing 99.99% of bacteria, preventing diseases like cholera, typhoid and E. coli.
Dr. Theresa Dankovich invented the bactericidal silver nanoparticle paper, called pAge, for her PhD in Chemistry at the McGill University. She also designed a “green” method to produce the silver nanoparticles, using cheap and benign chemicals and processing. She is currently looking at the impact of nanotechology and the end-of-life fate of nanotech in consumer products.
Resembling a coffee filter, each page is torn out to be used for filtration, and is also embossed with informative sanitary advice.

The book is currently not for sale as it is still in the product development stage. To support the project, please consider donating and learning more on the site.
